Our Floor Sanding Process:

  1. On heavily worn floors, we use a 36 grit abrasive on the drum sander and edge sander.
  2. We then work up the grit of abrasive, finally ending on 120 grit on the latest BONA FLEXI Sander. All with exceptional dust extraction, leaving the floor feeling as smooth as glass and dust free.
  3. We thoroughly hoover the main body of the floor, then carefully go around all edges and corners.
  4. Finally, we go over the floor with an electrostatic dusting pad.

Now the floor is ready for finishing coats of stain or lacquer.

We only use the highest standard of products available on the market, such as BONA and Morrells.

If an oil is applied, then it usually takes around 8 hours to dry before you’re able to walk on it., depending on the temperature of the property.

If water based lacquer is used, this usually takes 2 hours to dry.

It is impossible not to get any dust, but we have the latest dust extraction machines, to ensure your property is as dust free as possible.

As part of the service. We always wipe down all areas in the room before leaving.

As a rule and to ensure your floor looks as original as possible, we don’t fill the gaps, as the filler eventually falls out when the boards shrink/expands with the different seasons.

Pine slivers can be glued and knocked into the larger gaps, then sanded flush, but these tend to be very noticeable.
